A dialysis bag contains a solution of 0.20 M CaCl2. The bag is placed into a beaker

which contains a 0.20 M solution of glucose. If the dialysis bag is impermeable to

both CaCl, and glucose, but permeable to water will water move into or out of the

dialysis bag. Justify your answer.

Answer: Water will move throung the bag, but this flow is the same into and out because the solute concentration is the same.

Even if the compounds are different, the amount of moles per liter is the same (0,2 mol/L). So it is possible to say that the bag is in a isotonic medium in which water flows at the same rate into and out of the bag keeping it with the same amount of water, which is called a dynamic equilibrium
