In the X-Men comic book series, there is a character called Kitty Pryde who can walk right throughout walls. In our movie theater example, the wall of the theater represents the cell membrane. If Kitty Pryde can just walk right through the theater wall and into the theater, what type of molecule would she best represent? Charged, polar, or non-polar?

Answer: Non-polar molecule

Explanation: Cell membrane is made mostly of lipids arranged in a bilayer. Lipids are non polar molecules, they do not have any charge and they are also hydrophobic, so they can't interact with polar molecules such as water or charged ones like ions.

For cell membrane is easier to transport non polar molecules due to chemical afinity and let proteins transport polar molecules and ions. That is why Kitty Pryde should be a non polar molecule due to the easiness she has to go through the walls.
