When dealing with fractions you usually have to make common denominator when adding or subtracting. but in this situation you do not need common denominators. to work this out you will

1) set it up -3/8 ÷ -6/7

2) work it out

3 /8 ÷ 6 /7 = 3 × 7 over 8 × 6 = 21 over 48

and because it is a negative divided by a negative it will be a positive.
