An Air Force plane left Singapore and flew toward the maintenance facility at an average speed of 150 mph. A cargo plane left some time later and flew in the same direction but an average speed of 180 mph after flying for 5 hours the cargo plane caught up with the Air Force plane. How long did the Air Force plane fly before the cargo plane caught up?

Answer: The Air force plane fly 150 miles before the cargo plane caught up.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Average speed of Air force = 150 mph

Average speed of Cargo = 180 mph

They both flew in the same direction, So,

Relative speed = 180-150 =30 mph

Number of hours = 5 hours

So, Distance would be

Distance=Speed* Time\\\\Distance=30* 5\\\\Distance=150\ miles

Hence, the Air force plane fly 150 miles before the cargo plane caught up.
