Answer:

y =
(-3)/(2)x + 2

Explanation:

First, we have to calculate the slope which is;
(y_(2)- y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

Slope =
(-1-5)/(2-(-2)) =
(-6)/(4) = (-3)/(2)

The slope is
(-3)/(2)

So now we have to calculate the y-intercept which is;
y-y_(1)=m(x-x_(1) )

y - (-1) =
(-3)/(2)(x - 2) = y + 1 =
(-3)/(2)x + 3

Now, subtract 1 from both sides;

y =
(-3)/(2)x + 2
