Answer: The answer should be 49.

Step-by-step explanation: I read the problem, and did some quick mental math.

If John does 13 more math puzzles on Sunday than Thursday; and did 31 puzzles on Sunday, that would be:

31 - 13 = 18 (THURSDAY)

Sunday (31) + Thursday (18) = 49

Answer:

18 + 31 = 49 math puzzles.

Explanation:

You have to subtract 13 from 31 which is 18 and then add 18 and 31 together.
