let's check the set for any repeated x-values, namely any X-Repeats, if it does have repeated x-values, then is NOT a function, if it doesn't have any repeated x-values, then it IS a function.

\bf \{(3,4),(4,-6),(5,-7),(3,2),(-2,5)\}\implies ~\hfill \begin{array}{rrll} x&y\\ \cline{1-2} \blacktriangleright 3&4\\ 4&-6\\ 5&-7\\ \blacktriangleright3&2\\ -2&5 \end{array}~\hfill \begin{array}{llll} x-rep eats\\ not~a~function \end{array}
