At the beginning of a journey the fuel tank of a car was 3/4 full. When the car reached it's destination it had consumed 60% of the gasoline in the tank. The full capacity of the fuel tank isn't W gallons.

In the beginning, the tank was
(3)/(4) part full.

That means initially there was
(3W)/(4) gallons of fuel.

Now, after reaching the destination the car has consumed 60% of the fuel in the tank.

So, the volume of remaining fuel is (100 - 60) = 40% of initial volume i.e
(3W)/(4) * (40)/(100) = (3W)/(10) gallons. (Answer)
