Hi!

\tt{4x+31=-7(x-6)}

Step 1: Distribute -7.

\tt{4x+31=-7x+42}

Step 2: Subtract 31 from both sides.

\tt{4x=-7x+11}

Step 3: Add 7x to both sides.

\tt{11x=11}

Step 4: Divide both sides by 11.

\boxed{\tt{x=1}}

Have a nice day!

Hope that helped.
