In Mathematics, a translation is a type of transformation that shifts every point of a geometric object in the same direction on the cartesian coordinate, and for the same distance.

In this exercise, we would apply a translation of 7 units to the right and 9 units up to quadrilateral FGHJ, in order to determine the coordinates of its image as follows;

(x, y) → (x + 7, y + 9)

F (-6, -2) → (-6 + 7, -2 + 9) = F' (1, 7).

G (-3, -2) → (-3 + 7, -2 + 9) = G' (4, 7).

H (-2, -5) → (-2 + 7, -5 + 9) = H' (5, 4).

J (-5, -5) → (-5 + 7, -5 + 9) = J' (2, 4).
