Would fewer people owing guns mean there would be fewer-related deaths or would guns be deterrent for crime?

Explanation: Not really becouse the police officers still carry guns and they shoot as well and there would be fewer crimes as well becouse us folks as human beans wont have guns. That would be if they made it a law where people could not have guns.
