Answer: The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a civil-rights protest during where African Americans refused to ride city buses in Montgomery, Alabama, to protest segregated seating. Also the boycott took place from December 5th 1955, to December 20th 1956, and is regarded as the first large-scale U.S. demonstration against segregation. The event that mainly triggered the boycott took place in Montgomery on December 1st 1955, after seamstress Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on the city bus. Also local laws dictated that African American passengers sat at the back of the bus while whites sat up front. Also Rosa Parks bravery led to nationwide efforts to end racial segregation. Parks was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr.

Hope this helps :)
