In an isosceles triangle, a leg is 3 more than 1/3 of the base. If the perimeter is 31, find the length of each side.

Answer:

Explanation:

let the base=3x

other sides=(1/3)(3x)+3=x+3

perimeter=3x+2(x+3)=3x+2x+6=5x+6

5x+6=31

5x=31-6=25

x=25/5=5

x+3=5+3=8

3x=3*5=15

sides are 8,8,15
