Answers are:
1) Talk about cyberbullying, make it acceptable conversation, build trust with your kids, be available. The more you talk about things the more comfortable kids will be talking about it when it happens.
2) Educate about it - what is it and in what forms does cyberbullying come in, know what words and behaviors are not acceptable
3) Encourage kids to NOT engage with a bully, scroll past, don’t respond, and alert an adult
4) take all complaints of cyberbullying seriously. Don’t shrug it off, kids need to be heard.
5) parents can be “friends” on social media to observe and monitor activity. Parents can also have email passwords to monitor emails for inappropriate activity.
