Cross multiply
20(x+1)=14(x-1)
20x+20=14x-14
Subtract 14x on each side giving you
6x+20=-14
Subtract 20 on each side giving you
6x=-34
x=-34/6. Simplifying that you get x=-17/3. I hope this helps!!!

Answer:

X=-17/3

Explanation:

x+1/x-1 = 14/20

20x+20=14x-14

Subtract 20 from both sides

20x+20-20=14x-14-20

Simplify

20x=14x-34

Subtract 14x from both sides

20x-14x=14x-34-14x

Simplify

6x=-34

Divide both sides by 6

6x/6=-34/6

Simplify

X=-17/3

Thank you for letting me help!!
