The compound inequality of 4v + 2 > -2 or 3v - 5 < 7 is -1 < v < 4

Solution:

Need to solve following compound equality.

4v + 2 > -2 ------(1)

3v – 5 < 7 ------(2)

Lets first solve (1)

4v + 2 > -2

=> 4v > - 2 - 2

=> 4v > -4

=> v > -1 ------condition 1

On solving second equation we get,

3v – 5 < 7

=> 3v < 7 + 5

=> 3v < 12

=> v < 4 ------condition 2

From condition 1 and 2 we get, -1 < v < 4

Hence on solving given compound inequalities we get -1 < v < 4.

That is v must be between -1 and 4 to satisfy both inequalities
