Explanation:

The total vanilla ice cream = 7/8 gallons

Ice cream used for 1 milkshake = 1/12 gallon

Now, total number of milkshakes possible =
\frac{\textrm{Total availibility of ice cream}}{\textrm{Ice cream used for each milkshake}}

=
((7)/(8) )/((1)/(12) )  = (7)/(8)  * (12)/(1)  = 10.5
