Imagine you have a toy box that holds 3 wind-up toys and 5 spinning toys. A toy is taken out of the box and then put back 8 times. A spinning toy is taken out of the box 3 times. What is the experimental probability of drawing a wind-up toy out of the box?

Answer:

\
\frac {3}{5}

Explanation:

The toy box holds 3 wind-up toys and 5 spinning toys. A toy is taken out of the box and then put back 8 times. It will have no effect.

Next, a spinning toy is taken out of the box 3 times. So, there are now

3 wind-up and
(5 - 3) = 2 spinning toys.

P(Drawing a wind - up toy out of the box)

=
\frac {3}{3 + 2}
