Answer:

71 in = 5 ft 11 in

Explanation:

Here, we'll need to set up and use a proportion:

\frac{\textrm{Height of counter on screen}}{\textrm{Height of counter in real life}}=\frac{\textrm{Height of suspect on screen}}{\textrm{Height of suspect in real life}}

$(4.5)/(64)=(5)/(x)$

Cross-multiplying:

$4.5(x)=(5)(64)$

$4.5x=320$

Dividing both sides by 4.5:

$x=71.\overline{1}\approx{71}$

Thus, 71 inches equals 5 feet 11 inches.

Start with the height of the counter in both the computer and real life and divide those numbers. You do 64/4.5 and get 14.2 inches. That’s basically the scale factor. Then do
14.2 • 5 which equals 71.1 inches.

Convert it into feet and you get 5 feet, 9 inches. The suspect is approximately 5’9”
