Square numbers, or perfect squares, are when a number times itself equals x. For example, 5 x 5 = 25, therefore 25 is a perfect square. 5^9 is not a squarenumber , because 5x5x5x5x5x5x5x5x5 is not a perfect square, since you are multiplying it more than once by itself.
