The distance traveled by a ball rolling down an inclined plane varies directly as the square of the time. If the inclination of the plane is such that the ball traveled 27 ft at the end of 3 sec, what is the distance traveled at the end of 2 sec?

d = kt^2 where k is proportionality constant.

When d = 27 and t = 3

27 = 9k

k = 3

d = 3t^2

when t = 2,

d = 3* 2^2

=12ft
