Rewrite all the fractions to have the same denominator:

3/4 = 6/8

-1/4 = -2/8

Now you have -3/8 + 6/8 + -2/8

-3/8 + 6/8 = 3/8

3/8 + -2/8 = 3/8 - 2/8 = 1/8

The answer is 1/8
