The number of centimeters y in a linear

measurement varies directly with the number of
inches x in the measurement. Pablo's height is
152.4 centimeters or 60 inches. What is Maria's
height in centimeters if she is 64 inches tall?

Answer:

Maria's height = 162.56 centimeters

Explanation:

Given that:

Pablo's height:

152.4 centimeters or 60 inches

It can be written as:

60 inches = 152.4 centimeters

For finding 1 inch, multiply both sides by 60

1 inch = 152.4 / 60 centimeters

1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.......... eq (1)

Given height of Maria = 64 inches

For finding height in centimeters:

Multiply eq (1) with 64 on both sides:

1 * 64 inches = 64 * 2.54 centimeters

64 inches = 162.56 centimeters

So Maria's height in centimeters will be equal to 162.56 cm

I hope it will help you!
