Someone PLEASE HELP ME with this word problem!!!

The local bike shop ordered 19 wheels, and the shop owner wanted to make seven bicycles and/or tricycles from them. How many of each must he make to use up all of the wheels?

The instructions say the total bike/tricycles has to equal 7, but I keep getting 9 all together... Someone help!

Answer:

5 tricycles, 2 bicycles

Explanation:

5•3=15 2•2=4 15+4=19

always start with the largest group and try it out, if it doesn't work, subtract one from the largest group and try again.
