Landon needs 38 book shelves to build

Solution:

Given, Landon is building new bookshelves for his bookstores new mystery section.

Each shelf can hold 34 books.

There are 1265 mystery books.

We have to find how many shelves will he need to build.

Finding number of shelves needed:

\text { number of shelves required }=\frac{\text { total number of books }}{\text { number of books per shelf }}

=(1265)/(34)=37.205=38

Here we took 37.205 as 38 because fractional value of 37.0205 represents books more than 0 and less than 34. Which means there are some books to be kept, as we have to use a new shelf even for 1 book we have used the above integer value for a fraction.

Hence, Landon needs 38 book shelves.
