Answer:

y = -5

x = 5

Explanation:

3x + 6y = -15

-6x - 4y = -10

multiply first equation with 2 then add two equations up

×2 / 3x + 6y = -15 ➡ 6x + 12y = -30

(6x + 12y) + (-6x - 4y) = (-10) +(-30) (6x will eliminate -6x)

8y = -40

y = -5

use the value of y in the first equation to find x

3x + 6 ×(-5) = -15 ➡ 3x -30 = -15 ➡ 3x = 15
