To solve for height of the building, we would add 28 feet and the y component of the tree.

To find the height of the tree when it leans against the building, use the Pythagorean Theorem.


a^(2)+b^(2)=c^(2)


9^(2)+b^(2)=41^(2)


81+b^(2)=1681


b^(2) =1600

b= 40

Now add 40 and 28 to find the height of the building.

40+28= 68 ft
