Each member of a 4 person team made 25 cakes for a bake sale. These were all vanilla. If vanilla cakes represent 20% of the total cakes, how many cakes were not vanilla?

The number of cake made which is not of vanilla is 80

Explanation:

Given as :

Number of member in a team = 4

Number of cake made by each member of team = 25

So, Total number of cake made = 4 × 25 = 100

The amount of vanilla cake made = 20% of the total cake made

Or, The amount of vanilla cake made = 20% × 100

Or, The amount of vanilla cake made = 0.2 × 100 = 20

∴ The number of cake made which is not of vanilla = Total made cake - 20

Or, The number of cake made which is not of vanilla = 100 - 20 = 80

Hence The number of cake made which is not of vanilla is 80 Answer
