Explanation:

(m - 2)x + y = 2

y = -(m - 2)x + 2

8 = -(m - 2)(2) + 2

6 = -(m - 2)(2)

3 = -(m - 2)

-3 = m - 2

-1 = m

mx + 2y = k

2y = -mx + k

y = - (1)/(2) mx + (k)/(2) \\ y = (1)/(2) x + (k)/(2) \\ 8 = (1)/(2) (2) + (k)/(2) \\ 7 = (k)/(2) \\ 14 = k
