x = 4

Explanation:

Since the terms are in an arithmetic progression then there is a common difference between consecutive terms, that is

2x - 1 - (x + 1) = x + 5 - (2x - 1) ← distribute parenthesis on both sides

2x - 1 - x - 1 = x + 5 - 2x + 1, that is

x - 2 = - x + 6 ( add x to both sides )

2x - 2 = 6 ( add 2 to both sides )

2x = 8 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 4

The 3 terms are 5, 7, 9
