The most common reason for Tsunami is an earthquake and it is not safe on either side of the island.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Tsunami occurs as a series of waves in water and it is caused by the displacement of water from an ocean.
  • They are unlike normal tides which are caused due to the gravitational pull of moon and sun.
  • The waves of Tsunami are curvy and when they move towards the shore, the wave on one side of the island can merge with the wave on the other side.
  • This creates a bigger wave that could reach the side of the island that is away from the source of the earthquake.
  • Thus, the other side is not safe as well as in case of earthquakes.
