As the triangle including x, the height of the mountain is a right angled triangle.

Now we know that in a right angled triangle the tangent of an angle is the ratio of the opposite side and the adjacent side.

Tan α=
(opposite side)/(adjacent side)

here opposite side=5080 feet

adjacent side=x feet

α=58°

Tan 58° = 5080/x

x=5080/1.30=3174.3 feet.
