You will design an experiment to study cricket behavior using a two-chamber choice kit (see picture below). The two chambers are connected by a tunnel and gates. You will place a cricket in the tunnel joining the two chambers, remove the gates, and observe its behavior. You will record which chamber the cricket selects (the dependent variable). What are variables you will need to control?

Answer:

  • There is several crickets take place in the tunnel.
  • The sex-gender takes place in the tunnel.
  • The amount of time takes place before the gates are opened.
  • Position of the choice kit in the lab
  • There is the amount of time that observes the behavior of the cricketer.

These all variables are responsible and need to control the other variables in the study of the cricket using behavior that using a two chambers choice kit and the two chambers are joined with the gates.
