Tim is taking the train to Seattle to visit his grandparents. He was given $15 to spend on snacks and reading material. Granola bars cost $1.15 each, and magazines cost $1.25. If tim buys the same number of granola bars and magazines, how many can he buy?

Answer:

6 each

Explanation:

Add 1 granola bar $1.15 plus one magazine $1.25 = $2.40

$15.00/$2.40 = 6.25

6 granola bars x $1.15 = $6.90

6 magazines x $1.25 = $7.50

$6.90 + $7.50 = $14.40
