Answer: Cultural beliefs of a character or hero in a story can greatly impact their traits, motives, and strength. To begin, let us start with Manjiro. His culture shaped him to be respectful and relatively quiet but also curious. His culture had taught him to abide by rules he would have to follow. He was taught the family line of jobs on his father's side of his family was what he should be, otherwise, possibly not accepted by his family. On the other hand, Achilles’ culture shaped him to be quite courageous and strong, possibly even religious. But as a boy growing with these traits, he had grown to be rather reckless. His culture taught him that if he went to battle he would be likely live a short life. But be remembered as a brave warrior from battle through the generations to come. Although, both of the boys cultures had a similar view on strength, the culture they had grown with still greatly impacted their lives. And to both be remembered for generations to come. In conclusion, culture can affect anyone’s life or beliefs.
