Who is more likely to acquire DMD, boys or girls? Why is that? Could a person have a mutated

gene for dystrophin but not have DMD? How?

Boys are more likely to acquire DMD, this is because the dystrophin gene is commonly in the X chromosome. A person can have a mutated gene for dystrophin but not have DMD because they are known as a carrier, but if they see no symptoms the disease will most likely go to their offspring. This is because it could depend on age and how the original carrier lives.

Hope this helps!
