From Mr. Ian Hopkins

To Mr. President,
Honorable Thomas Jefferson,
Mr. President, I am a student from Nepal. I am writing this letter to you pursuing you not to buy the territory of Louisiana. The territory of Louisiana is a land west of the newly formed United States of America and I can see that you are interested in adding Louisiana to this newly formed great nation. But, the United States could benefit more from remaining small. It would be much easier for government control, law, and order.
Instead of giving $15 million to the French for Louisiana, that much money could be spent wisely in our own land for opportunities and development. Public facilities could be improved; better roads could be constructed, etc.
I hope you take this letter into consideration and do the right thing.
Sincerely,
Ian Hopkins.
