Answer:

37 units

Explanation:

the guy uptop did the math wrong

what you do is

since both the sides are double the lenth of the original smaller triangle, the rate of dialtion is by 2

so you muntiply 4x+1 by 2 and it should equal to the top line AE

since you multiplyed them by 2 now they are the same so you can solve for X

11x-25=2(4x+1)

11x-25=8x+2

3x=27

x=9

then you plug in 9 for x at the bottom

4(9)+1=37

to double check plug in x for the top as well

and it should be double the amount as the bottom (smaller one)

and indead it is 74

X=9

plug in X and you answer is 37

Answer:

45 units

Explanation:

See the given diagram with the question here.

The point D and point E are the midpoints of line segments AC and BC respectively.

Therefore, the length of the line joining points D and E will be half of length AB.

Now, given that AB = 11x - 25 and DE = 4x + 1.

Hence, ( 11x - 25 ) = 2 ( 4x + 1 )

⇒ 3x = 33

x = 11

Therefore, length DE = 4x + 1 = 4 ( 11 ) + 1 = 45 units. (Answer)
