Using algebra, you can solve the equation by letting the unknown of the number of packages be x. Then you solve by forming an equation that involves solving for x. Since you know that he earned $600 that week, along with working 40 hours that week. You know that the $600 is the money he earned for wrapping up the packages and the total amount of pay he earned for working 40 hours. You must work out the amount he is paid through his wage as well as the number of packages he earns by wrapping up packages. You are told that he earns $2 for every one that is wrapped. Therefore, you are able to generate an equation to then solve x.
