(3,1) or x=3 y=1

Explanation:

2x+y=7

X-y=2

=3x+9

X=3

2x+y=7

2(3)+y=7

6+y=7

-6 - 6

Y=1

Explanation:

Elimination:

2x + y = 7------(1)

x - y = 2--------(2)

(1)+(2) 2x + x + y + (-y) = 9

3x = 9

x = 3

sub x = 3 into(2) 3 - y = 2

- y = -1

y = 1

Substitution:

2x + y = 7------(1)

x - y = 2-------(2)

x = 2 + y-----(3)

sub(3)into(1) 2(2+y) + y = 7

4 + 2y + y = 7

3y = 3

y = 1

sub y = 1 into(3) x = 2 + 1

= 3
