Axon.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Neurons have three parts namely, a cell body(perikaryon), dendrites and axon.
  • Axon is the thin tapering long process that conduct nerve impulses away from the cell body towards succeeding neurons or target organs.
  • Axons are covered by a protective myelin sheath that provides insulation to nerve fibres.
  • The myelin sheath are interrupted by small gaps called Nodes of Ranvier.
  • The Nerve impulse travels from one node to another.
