An ad hoc committee has been created to decide if the launch for a new product should be continued as scheduled or delayed. The committee members are comprised of diverse decision-makers. Stan is making a plea to the committee to delay based on a hunch he has. Mary has presented a case for her recommendation based on a simplified model to reduce the complexity of the decision at hand. Caroline has carefully constructed a flow chart defining the problem, identifying the decision criteria, allocating weights to the criteria, developing a list of all the possible alternatives, evaluating these alternatives, and then selecting the "best" alternative. Which approach to decision-making is Caroline using?

Answer:

Caroline is using the Rational-analytical approach to decistion making

Step-by-step explanation:

There are a few approaches to Decistion Making, the 4 most common are:

  • Rational-analytical approach,
  • Intuitive-emotional approach,
  • Political-behavioural approach.
  • Administrative approach.

In the case of the rational- analytical approach, we should be fully aware of all alternatives and its consecuences in order to select the one alternative that maiximizes the profit.

In order to do that we should recolect and study all the available information of the situation and its alternatives and then evaluate it with logical and rational tools, selecting the best posiible scenario based on the given alternatives.

This is what Caroline is doing in her presentation
