Ashley owns a food truck that sells tacos and burritos. She only has enough supplies to make 92 tacos or burritos. She sells each taco for $3.50 and each burrito for $5.50. Ashley must sell no less than $430 worth of tacos and burritos each day. If 34 tacos were sold, determine the maximum number of burritos that the Ashley could sell that would meet the requirements. If there are no possible solutions, submit an empty answer.

Answer:

57 burritos

Explanation:

Ashley sells one taco for $3.50 and each burrito for $5.50.

She can make a maximum of 92 tacos or burritos.

Ashley cannot sell more than $430 worth each day.

If she sold 34 burritos, we need to find the maximum number of burritos she can sell to reach requirements.

So 34 * $3.50 = $119.

So,we subtract the value of the burritos sold that day from the maximum amount of sales she can make in a day

$430 - $119 = $311.

Therefore,to find the maximum number of burritos a day she can sell, we divide the $311 by the value of each burrito which is $5.50

311/5.50 = 56.5 burritos, approximately 57 burritos.

Now, remember, Ashley can make a maximum of 92 tacos or burritos,

She has already made 34 tacos, so adding to the 57 burritos, we discover they are not up to or greater than 92. 34+57=91

Therefore,Ashley can sell a maximum number of 57 burritos to reach requirements.

Answer:

58

Explanation:

Let's define x as the number of burritos that Ashley could sell.

As she sold 34 tacos and she only has enough supplies to make 92 tacos or burritos,

x + 34 ≤ 92

x + 34 - 34 ≤ 92-34

x ≤ 58

On the other hand, she must sell no less than $430. We have to multiply the number of tacos and burritos by their price each, sum them and that has to be greater (or equal) than $430. In math language, that is

34*$3,50 + $5,50*x ≥ $430

Let's resolve the equation by leaving the x alone on one side of the equation:

$119 + $5,50*x ≥ $430

We subtract $119 on both sides:

$119 + $5,50*x - $119 ≥ $430 - $119

$5,50*x ≥ $311

Now we divide by $5,50:

$5,50*x/$5,50 ≥ $311/$5,50

x ≥ 56,5

With this information, x must be smaller or equal to 58 and greater or equal to 56,5. Therefore, the maximum number of burritos that Ashle could sell that would meet the requirements is 58.
