Answer:

The x-intercept and the y-intercept of the graph of by + ax = c is
(c)/(a) \text { and } (c)/(b) respectively

Solution:

Given, line equation is by + ax = c.

We have to find the y – intercept and x – intercept for the above given line equation.

Now, we know that, y – intercept is y value when line meets y – axis.

And x becomes 0 when line meets y – axis.

\text { Then by }+a(0)=c \rightarrow \text { by }=c \rightarrow y=(c)/(b)

So, the y – intercept value is
(c)/(b)

Now, x – intercept in x value when line meets x – axis

And y becomes 0 when line meets x – axis.

\text { Then } b(0)+a x=c \rightarrow a x=c \rightarrow x=(c)/(a)

So, the x – intercept value is
(c)/(a)

Hence, the x – intercept and y – intercept of line is
(c)/(a) and (c)/(b)
