Aaron and his friends went trick or

treating for Halloween. When they got home,
they dumped all of their candy into one pile
and weighed it. All of the candy weighed 22.36
pounds. If Aaron and his 5 friends all took
home the same amount, how much did each kid
get?

Answer:

4.472 lbs

Explanation:

this is a division problem.

"all the candy" is what they are dividing, and "all the candy" weighed 22.36 lbs.

"5" is the number that they are dividing by, because they are dividing the candy among "5" different people.

so you will set up your problem like this:

22.36 lbs÷5=?

the easiest way to solve this would be to put it in a calculator, so that you would get:

4.472 lbs

which is the answer.
