g ----> the number of girls

we know that


b+g=27 -----> equation A


g=b+5 -----> equation B

substitute the equation B in equation A and solve for b


b+b+5=27


b+b=27-5


2b=22


b=11\ boys

Find the value of g


g=11+5=16\ girls

therefore

The expression that represent the number of girls is (b+5)
