Sir
This is in reference to the article ‘Language is Forever Changing’ published in your esteemed daily. I am in complete agreement with the ideas expressed in the piece. Language has been a medium of communication since time immemorial. When man had not devised words, he used sign language. With development and progress in time, he created his own language such that different tribes and communities of different regions spoke different languages.
As interaction grew across globe, language started incorporating influences to fulfill the basic human need to communicate. Humans moved to places and so did their language. It was understood as representing a culture. Exchanges happened all across the world. Africans were influenced by English and so were Indians. The British borrowed some words from Hindi. Similar influences happened in other regions too. Dictionaries were continuously made and still are updated every year. All thanks to the ingenuity of humans.
Computers came and made their contribution; Sciences developed and contributed too. Creativity, Comprehension, inventions and discoveries added their share. The process of evolution continues. Some words become obsolete while others with new meanings are added every day. We hope influences continue along with growth and development.
Language should have infinite possibilities. That is a mark of an impressive civilization. Hope your newspaper will continue celebrating languages and its various changes and forms.
With regards
Yours truly
