Answer:

An article fills 1/2 of a magazine page. The photo takes 3/16th of the page

Solution:

A corresponding photo takes up 3/8 of the article

We have to find out how much of the page is taken by photo

This can be calculated by finding out the space taken by photo in the total article space

Space taken by article = 1/2 page

Space taken by photo= 3/8th of article

3/8th of article means 3/8th of 1/2

=(3)/(8) * (1)/(2)=(3)/(16)

Hence the corresponding photo takes 3/16 of the magazine page

Answer:

(3)/(16) part of a page.

Explanation:

An article fills
(1)/(2) part of a magazine page.

Hence, if the total magazine page is x then
(x)/(2) of the magazine page is covered by an article.

Now, given that, a corresponding photo takes up
(3)/(8) part of the article.

Therefore,
(x)/(2)* (3)/(8)  =(3x)/(16) i.e.
(3)/(16) part of the total page is taken up by the photo. ( Answer )
