Following is a comparison between the life of a worker from the Industrial Age era and the life of a minimum wage worker in 2019:

Life of a company town worker form the Industrial Age era:

The worker had to work long shifts.

He had to work without any holidays most of the time.

The methods of production and machinery were not as safe, hence the life of the workers was at risk.

The industry owners exploited the employees and never considered their demands.

Life of a minimum wage worker in 2019:

Though the wages are low, the worker has the protection of certain laws.

There are fixed working hours and dedicated holidays every week.

The employer has to take care of the safety of the worker at work.

The methods of production and machinery have become easy, efficient, fast, and safe. Thus, working is not much of a hardship.

There are unions and associations of workers to resist any apparent exploitation of the workers by the industry owners.
