The expression of the reaction rate can be obtained assuming that the reaction follow a linear plot that means follow the equation y = mx + b; where m is the slope, b is the Y intercept and x and y are the variables. In order to obtain the value of the rate (the same value of the slope), we consider the velocities given in M/s and calculate the average as you can see in the image attached. Then, we write the linear plot equation with this value assuming that the Y intercept is with zero.
